 Unfortunately it is our day to leave the condo. Due to impending weather Mom and Dad will be leaving from dropping us off to head north.  We slept in a bit and finished packing in the morning. The boys and Mom found that the duck was laying on some eggs and found an additional egg by the electrical box.  

When checking in for the airport it said to arrive 3 hours early due to heavier travel volumes so we left after Dad's meeting at around 10:45. 

We were able to get right through security without any lines! However, once we arrived we learned that our flight had been delayed by 3 hours and was now scheduled to go at 5:00.  We found a Ruby Tuesday and sat for lunch.  Teddy's cough was starting to get better, but he would get a really bad spurt and almost puke. We figured out that suckers helped suppress the cough so we were feeding him suckers like it was his job. We left Ruby Tuesday's at 3:00 and headed to our gate.

As our time to board was approaching we were still missing an airplane. We waited and waited and finally found out we were delayed more and eventually found out we were switching gates. When we got to our "new gate" it had Minneapolis on the board (we were headed to Kansas City) but it also said that Detroit was out of that gate. So we had three flights fighting for one plane.  

Long story short our gate got moved to 20, in a different terminal. So everyone raced to try to get to gate 20. Even when we arrived we were delayed more. At about 6:30 boarded.

Our flight attendant was a hoot and really lightened the mood. People were tense, but her jokes and calm demeanor was so pleasant. Both boys fell asleep in my lap and Teddy started running a fever. I am afraid we are starting the process over with him. We arrived to Kansas City around 9:15 and by the time we got the van and hit the road it was close to 9:45. We arrived home shortly before midnight and Drew spent the night with us. I am thankful we had the two strollers so Teddy could rest too while in the airport. 

The trip brought fevers, coughs, allergic reactions and canceled reservations, but it also brought laughs, many nights of Catan, warm weather and relaxing in the pool.  Although it was not the trip we had imagined it was enjoyable and many memories were made.
